data connection droid

my droid seems to work faster when data connection is on.so my question is how do i keep it on it goes on and off when it wants to

p.s on a side note who lives in socal. need some help on possible rom for droid to load up overclock

I'm pretty sure it's just managed by the OS. I know you can set it not to come on, but I think that as far as making it active at all times, I don't think you can do that.
If you want to OC, just install Droid Mod 1.0 and download SetCPU. You can OC up to 1.2ghz with it. You will have to flash a custom rom with the overclocking permission built in because you will only be able to underclock with the stock rom. Droid Mod is the easiest way to root, dl, and flash roms. And the overclocking is very fast and stable.
