He's a developer over at alldroid.com. (he ported the 2.1 over to the droid)

Haha... yeah I see he's a bit abrasive. I guess he actually ported to the G1 not the droid so my post may be out of line here.
Anyways, still hope this isn't a precedent.

The operating system is open source but some of the Apps like maps and Google Voice aren't.
