I need some help with my droid

This has happened more than once. I go to use my droid and when i try to wake it up nothing happens. the screen stays off. I know its not the battery since I last left it at 90%. Only thing that makes it work again is if I pop off the battery. Then when I put it back on and press the power button every thing works again.. Anybody know what could be causing that?

P.S I have the Motorola Droid not rooted with latest official update. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick reply

I usually do if I wont be using the droid for a little while. I kill unwanted running task then I put the phone down on my table.. just the reminder that it does not happen ALL of the time its random but I ALWAYS kill task before I put my phone down for long periods of time.

This happened to me when I used Panda Home, after I uninstalled it I had no problems.

I used to have this same issue. I have quit killing tasks and now it works flawlessly. Other thing to try is to uninstall any apps you have recently installed and see if that fixes it. I have found that if you don't kill the tasks things work smoother unlike with winmo...Phil

You may also be having the syncing problem, where it hangs on syncing with one of the Google Apps (and the little rotating arrow appears on the notification bar)....mine's been doing that and when it hangs, the phone gets super hot and the battery dies in like half an hour (which is a real problem with using it as an alarm clock).
