I have the TP2 through work and just got the droid today for personal use. I used all of the popular roms on the TP2 and it doesnt come close to the snappiness of the droid. People might complain about the camera but the camera on TP2 is crap also. Here is an image I took with HTC DIAMOND with the 3 meg cam, none of these phones even come close to it.

Seriously, Google is technology company, not just a search engine. Google didn't create Linux which Android is based on, but they tweekrf it to make it work (great in my opinion) as a phone OS. I went from a Touch Pro to the Droid after playing around with the TP2 and seeing how sluggish it was compared to the Droid. Seriously, I use this thing all day long for web browsing, txt, games, and as a phone and I have only had to reboot it MAYBE 4 times, and several of those were after I installed a crap app that I wanted to get rid of all traces of.

I just couldnt resist lol. Obviously the Droid is not the perfect phone for everyone, as there is not a perfect phone for everyone, but that post was just such an obvious troll. I really like the TP2 also, it's a great phone as well and Mighty Mike will no doubt tweak his rom to perfection. I still think the Droid is a better out of the box than a tweaked TP2 though. Hardware wise they are actually pretty close, the TP2 is just missing the graphics drivers to make it really shine in the video department, and it's saddled with the old WM issues. I'm not even willing to look at another WM phone until 7 comes out.

no regrets, after many winmo phones I have zero regrets going to the droid instead of the tp2 or even the new omnia2... the droid is soo much easier to customize I don't expect I will ever find myself needing to flash a custom rom on unless android 2.1 or 3.0 or whatever is that much better...

My thoughts exactly. I'm really glad you mentioned the spoon, it was a valid point that I would have brought up if you had missed it.

On that note, sorry but Google is a browser gaiz.

Dang, that's a nice shot. I have to say I'm a little disappointed with the Droid's camera. Fortunately I don't use it a ton, but it's the only digital camera I have at the moment. When I need a good indoors shot with it I have to really try to make it turn out well. When I use the flash I get a nice pink coloring in the middle of pictures...Outdoors in the daylight it does alright though.

TP2 beats it anytime.

I had written Motorola off as dead as well but this is on heck of a device. As for your statement that Google is a web browser, that just lacks education. Google is a major player in a number of arenas, web browser being the least of them. Maybe you meant to say just a search engine, which would still be inaccurate but closer to reality.

Did you know that Google just signed a major government entity to run all of that organizations through the new Gmail Enterprise Edition? Did you know that Google bought a large volume of optic networks that went dark during the .bomb?

I would say that you should stop underestimating Motoroal and Google and maybe invest some time in proof reading your post.
