is there anyone willing to manila and cab up my pre-cut wallpapers, ive got about 8 i want to test

I had his problem when I first went to make my own too. The second post in the guide says what to do. Basically you need m9 editor to you can uncompress the files. I uncompress then add my images and recompress them.

You can also use CFCGUI to cfc de/compress the images. For manila2.1, CFC compression should work fine.

Post #1 updated to include Kamill's CompactHome mod, more language support, and a minor fix to the landscape image position.

I was using v2a without an issue and then this morning I installed v2b.

However, now not only does the clock show 0:00 but there is also 1 overlaying the other.

I've tried to uninstall but it says it can't!

Can someone help me out as I would love to get back to my lovely panoramic image.

Thanks

Craig

Hmm, haven't heard of that issue yet. Did you happen to uninstall v2a before installing v2b? As far as getting v2b uninstalled, try to install v2b again. It should say it will remove it. After it does that and asks you where to install it, just hit cancel. See if that will get you back to stock and if the clock will work.

You can take any clock from calkulin's kitchen and jut put the manila files in your /windows folder. You will then have whatever clock you chose (ie silver glass, etc). Simple:)

How can I uninstall a panoramic wallpaper so that my main wallpaper is the one I see no matter if I see Today or email, etc.. I changed my wallpaper to a normal image and all it does is change the today one, then when I scroll over to calendar, contacts, it shows me my old panoramic image.

Have you tried just uninstalling it? The cab should be uninstall. If not, just install the same cab again and it will say it will remove the previous version. Say ok and when it asks you where to install, just hit cancel. If you want to do it manually, just delete 5c9aa261_manila (use total commander) and you'll be back to stock. If it's cooked into your ROM, find a stock gen.y 2.1 5c9aa261_manila and copy that to /windows.

Fixed an error with Gen.Y Panorama v2b.cab. The black curtain for secondary menus will now work (problem was with 'Gen.Y Panorama v2b.cab' only).

I dont know what im doing wrong, but i had this working on my prevoius rom that had tf3d2 on it already. Now im on mightys 6 final which does not, and I cant get it working smoothly. it works just not smooth like it was. So according to the gen Y manilla instructions over at xda, I am to install the r1 install with no message enhancement because the rom has tf on it previously. (somebody please correct me if I got that wrong.) after the manilla 2 install, I install this theme with mods, and the icons become somewhat distorted and it lags VERY bad when scrolling. Siince they came from the same author, I figure there has to be a combination that Im using wrong. Can someone confirm the right combination of installs I need. The r1 right? And the 2b with mods? Right? WHy is it lagging so much on me? It was working perfect for me on my previous merdhins.

Did it run smooth before installing the panoramic mod? The mod only adds a small .luac script for the background scrolling, the 6 manila files for the backgrounds, and modifies several manila2.1 files.

It's probably laggy because of installing manila2.1 over the old manila mightymike used. There's over 1,000 manila files alone in manila2.1 (not counting the other packages that are included in the cabs), and it may be not every single old file gets overwritten with a new one. IMO, you'd probably be better finding an updated rom with no manila or manila 2.1 already cooked in.

If you only want this mod for old manila (and none of the other manila2.1 features), I can try to change the old manila files to give the same panoramic effect. You'd probably have to be a guinea pig and test it for me since I don't have any old manila packages in my kitchen to cook in. Just let me know if you would like it and also post your 5c9aa261_manila file so I can use the one compatible with the manila mightymike used.

Thanks bro, but honestly i want the manilla 2. I dont care if its 2.0 .1 or .5. But i would like to stay on mightys. I just want it all to work. I tried just doing a standard tf3d2 theme, and it killed it like i had the touchflo on during the installation(which i didnt). It runs very smooth until i theme it. The panoramic works but its just laggy. I was going for custom icons with the panoramic clock and mods, on top of the manilla 2.1 install. I guess my question is why are the touchflo2 themes Ive been using for months, not working on the manual install of the gen Y manilla tf3d2? I thought it was this panoramic killing it. Doesnt look like it now. I just dont want a stock look. Im just wondering if theres a combination of with mods or without mods, or the version of the manilla install for that matter, that would all coincide.

EDIT** I dont know how i got it to work the first time, but now it wont even work. Im gettin the landscape and portrait background blurred together and no clock. I used the 2a version yesterday, and im using the 2b file today. Figured it didnt matter. I dont know if its the version thats killing it or what. Unfortunately , I already deleted the 2a file. Ive tried all three. with mods, no compact home, nothing is working.

Thanks for the .cab

One thing; when sliding through tabs the background doesn't fade/blur and it conflicts with the icons. I hope the picture helps to explain this. I'm guessing it would be nearly impossible to remedy this, but if you could it would make my week.

Try the attached cab and let me know if it works. It looks like maybe you're using an older version of the panoramic mod that contained a transparent file for the black curtain when sliding tabs. I'm sure it can be made to work like stock. We just need to restore the proper manila files. If this cab does not work or there is another error, let me know if you installed a cab from post 1 of this thread or what ROM you're running.

With nrg's rom, you need to choose the default wallpaper from manila settings tab. Also you must install to 'main memory' for it to work. It works fine with nrg's ROMs (at least his previous ones), though you may need the 'move down' fix in post 1 after you've installed the panoramic cab of your choice.

Got a quick question ... I was able to build a panoramic bg and the portrait version works perfectly. The landscape version is a different story lol. The first image that shows is a repeat of the far right image and then the rest of landscape are the 3 regular images again. Anyone else run into something like this or have thoughts on what to check?

zip up your 67ea4038_manila, 67fc58b9_manila, 680e713a_manila, 6832a23c_manila, 6844babd_manila, and 682089BB_manila files and post them. As long as 6832a23c_manila, 6844babd_manila, and 682089BB_manila contain the image you want in landscape, they should display correctly. What cab did you install from post 1 or if it was included with a ROM you flashed, which one? If you didn't modify 5c9aa261_manila or 3941bc49_manila, it should work correctly.

Files attached. I added a folder into Calk's kitchen so I could select it like any of the other backgrounds. I'm building a 23017 6.5 rom and had the same results with both the 9-23 and 9-28 kitchens. Portrait is fine each time. From a process standpoint, I made a copy of the 512x512 images and on the copies changed them to the appropriate names for the landscape set. I've tried both padded and unpadded thru the cfcgui with the same outcome. Thanks for taking a look!

You were doing everything right, but just had the ones in landscape in the wrong order. When you look at them in cfcgui, the first 3 listed are portrait left to right and the bottom 3 are landscape left to right. Sorted by name, they are listed left to right for both portrait and landscape (if that makes any sense).
Code:

          pic    left    middle  right
portrait:  left 67ea403->67fc58b->680e713 right
landscape: left 682089B->6832a23->6844bab right

I've attached to corrected files since I was looking at them anyway :).

The mod is for VGA (as in the title :)), so it won't work for your WVGA tp2 without adjusting the y-positioning values. The reason you probably got the white is because the manila files are cfc compressed. I am not sure, but it looks like your stock manila may not support cfc compression.

Re: [VGA]Manila 2.1 Panoramic Background v2b

Hello everyone,

I'm having a problem with the latest NRG ROM, Oct. 13th build, and Gen Y Panoramic V2b. Before once I installed the cab and I got the default image I just copied my own manila files to the windows directory to change to my panoramic image. Then I would go to the setting tab and the wallpaper selection and select YES to go back to the default wallpaper and all would be great. Now I can't get rid of the default wallpaper on the Home screen. It is gone initially when I install the cab but then it comes back when I copy my files to windows. Then I can't get rid of it and it really slows down sliding between tabs a lot!! I hope someone will have an answer to this. I love Gen Y Panoramic cab!!
