Re: CDMA not working in india

Dear Sir,
In india there are two type of network GSM and CDMA. CDMA like relience, Tata, Vodafone. WCDMA is a type of 3G speed in GSM network.

Re: CDMA not working in india

did your carrier explain to you why they cannot add your device to the network? or is it a problem with your phone? if it is it could be rom related.

Re: CDMA not working in india

Do you have a contract with a CDMA carrier in India? if so, they can help you manually program it. If not, the network won't recognize your device, and won't allow you to activate the phone.

Re: CDMA not working in india

hero121 sir,
I am also looking for ways to use CDMA for Reliance in India.

The Steps involved,
1) Register your MEID with Reliance. Some third parties do it.
2) Upload Reliance PRL using LGNPST.
So far I have done two steps. I get Reliance Tower.

I think the Verizon people put a check to restrict *228 to activate reliance.

But *229 (used for Handset Change Card-HCC) in the phone works fine.
That shows Network is not locked. Only *228 dialing is locked.

My wish is
1) to remove nag "Activation Not Available" Nag while dialing *228
(or)
2) use some other dialer (& related files) from some other ROM so that we can use *228 without restriction.

Waiting for somebody to help..

headhair 02-15-2012 10:47 PM

Re: CDMA not working in india

Ewen in GSM Netwok Mode active, if you dial
*228, it says Activation Not Available.

It clearly shows the cdma network is not locked
only *228 dialing is locked. if the popup is removed, cdma could
be used in other networks

pizzaboy192 02-16-2012 12:06 AM

Re: CDMA not working in india

If you search the registry for *228, what comes up? Could be as simple as removing that key from registry and you might have it unlocked.

Re: CDMA not working in india

No luck.

Searched Registry, found Keys containing *228

Re: CDMA not working in india

Check these two locations: you should find some refrences. Delete them and see what happens.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\NoLog\List
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Qualcomm\RIL\OTASP\Non StandardDialString
Reboot the phone and try an activation.

I had made a ROM Without LGE phone canvas, and it is good working also an improved ram size. But I have deleted that one. But I will make a rom for you without LGE phone canvas so that it may be possible make to use CDMA in India by your trial and test.
I will make and upload within 2 or three days. I have no broadband at this time so it may delay in uploading.

Well Hero121,

I have made changes to dll file responsible for *228
Activation Not Available.

Now I can dial *228. Connected to Reliance,
punched 9 digit pin number. After verification
of PIN, it says "your handset cannot be activated."
I have to take it to Reliance Outlet & sort out problem.

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for your testing As on today I was to upload your rom without lge canvas , but there was problem. Without LGE canvas we will not able to go in Eng.menu by code ##7764726750.

Thanks hero121,

Please do not upload ROM without lge canvas. I have found other method to dial *228. So, No problem.

Regarding Engineering Mode, to program NAM parameters, there is another way. There is a file called "hidden meu.exe" in windows folder. Just run this file. You will get Enginering Mode.

I am to go to Reliance Office today. I tell you everything once I get success.

Re: CDMA not working in india

Please wait one more day. I approached Reliance center, they informed me that they have no HCC. I have to get it from other place.

I will let you know where to Register your phone MEID to Reliance (Third party Details) & place where to download Reliance PRLs.

So far I have spent Rs. 500 for Registration of MEID & more 300 buying GSK and RUIM. Still not activated due to non dialing of *228. I just wanted you not to incur any extra money for activation as i did.

Please wait..

Re: CDMA not working in india

To Activate Reliance CDMA in LG Fathom

1) Contact any third party to Register your MeID
Recommended:- Tarun kabra

source:-

Using Foreign Imported CDMA Handsets with CDMA Networks in India

They will also send you the AKEY, EVDO username & Password.

2) Check the Registration Status using any other CDMA mobile
Send SMS to 53733
GETSTAT <your MEID>

You will get reply sms as
Handset Status as on
with RSN <your MEID>: will work with
a Postpaid GSK, Prepaid GSK, and a HCC

Now your MEID is registered with Reliance

3) Load any one of Reliance PRLs attached using LGNPST
(I think it is not necessary)

4) Put Akey given by your Third party Registrant
dial 2539**
put AKEY (26 digits)

5) Use RescoExplorer and copy the file in the dialer\228enabled folder and
paste it in the Mobile's Windows folder.
Overwrite any existing file.

6) Restart the Phone

7) Now you are able to dial *228 & get Reliance Welcome Message

8) Go to Reliance Store, Get GSK (Get Started Kit)

9) dial *228, input 9 digit pin Number given in GSK.
Your set is activated for Reliance.

10) That's all

Re: CDMA not working in india

Dear headhair
Sir,
As I found/downloaded your technique I searched the file "LgeDialParser.dll" in my kitchen rom. that was found in OEM file of kitchen. I replaced with new one which you provided for me i.e. *228 dialer enabled dll. Then I made a new rom with all other the same. I had installed it But no success. After dialing *228 its popup Activation not available as usual. Any way I have noticed that the phone came with V4 version. then v5, then v7. In V4 version *228 was normally functioning and connected to reliance india server, and after asking by server dial 2 for hindi and so on after that saying your phone could not be activated so on. So I think this pop is in new LGE dialer canvas, Because I had made a rom without LGE Phone canvas, after installing that rom, there was no problem with *228 dialing and connecting to reliance server. But the new dialer/phone canvas has extra features so it can not be ignored.
Any way you have succeded. But mine no success.
I have asked to you (is your phone now working with CDMA). I am waiting for your reply.
Thanks

headhair 02-22-2012 08:29 AM

Re: CDMA not working in india

In my case, when I bought the phone, I didnot check *228.

I immediately updated v5. After that I was not able to dial *228 & connect to
Reliance. So, I searched for many days, many forums this problem. No use.

Finally I myself found that, Lgedialparser.dll is giving the "Activation Not Available' Message.(I am attaching the Image) So I copied it PC & using Hex Workshop, I replace *228 with *221 & saved.
Now after replacing the cracked file, I was able to dial *228.

In your case, If *228 already working, & you can catch Reliance Server, you need not change prl & *228 enabled dll. You need not make any changes.

But for getting Reliance CDMA to work on your phone, it is sure that your MEID is to be on their database.
Have you registered your MEID?

As I have to go to another town to get hcc, & I am busy, I still not made it to work.
Please wait.

Re: CDMA not working in india

Dear headhair
*228 was working with the rom without V7 LGE phone canvas, Now I am using a rom with V7 LGE phone canvas and in this rom *228 not working, giving popup activation not available. I have a kitchen file where v7 phone canvas has been extracted in form of ext.file, So in need, rom can be made with/without phone canvas. But I am not getting any clue in the ext.file of phone canvas to find why *228 giving this popup after making rom with LGE v7 Phone canvas.
Any way I am waiting for your success in CDMA working.
Thanks.

Re: CDMA not working in india

Yesterday I went to reliance outlet & people there promised me to transfer Reliance RUIM Number to LG Fathom Handset.
But today they said that your headset cannot be activated for some unknown reasons.
I have written to Reliance Customer Care regarding this.

I have one other option. Using GSK. Let me try it tomorrow & give you the results.

Thanks for cooperation hero121.

Re: CDMA not working in india

1 ) First you have to register your MEID with reliance database
2) You must input the 26 digit A-Key.
3) Properly configure MCC MNC home SID NID etc
4) try to load the PRL file

Dear hero121,
I cannot make it successful as it says "Your device cannot be activated"
Still have to contact Reliance outlet.

The easy way to find MCC & MNC
Go to GSM Network Tab->Select Manual Network
After some searching you can view CDMA networks there in the format 40520
Normally Reliance Network has MCC as 404 or 405 & rest of the digits are MNC.

Regarding SID/NID, someone has to tell how to find out the values.

And one more request..
Please upload ROM without LG Canvas.

I Have started uploading just now and after two hour It would be available to you if uploading would be successful. After that I will provide download link:

Uploading completed and The download link is :-http://www.sendspace.com/file/qem0nk
In this rom you will not found the popup "Activation not available"
One thing I have to say that my files will not be available on the server (sendspace.com) for not more than a month.
I am on free user account so they used to delete/banned to download for free users. My two files are now not available for me as I am a free account user.
Thanks

There's a key in the registry that can disable the canvas. Easier than reflashing. I found it earlier, by searching the registry for "phone" strings.

Re: CDMA not working in india

Thank you hero121 & Pizzaboy for extending technical help.

For What?

Yes, I have activated Reliance Number in my LG Fathom.
I feel a great success. May be I am the first person to
activate LG Fathom to an Non-Verizon CDMA Network.
May be this method be used for other networks.

The Last struggle, even after MEID Registrartion with Reliance, is
"Your Device could not be activated. Please contact customer Care"
After hours & hours of searching I found that
the main culprit for this problem is "eri.bin" file in NV Memory.

I used QPST. Using EFS Explorer in QPST Configuration,
I deleted eri.bin file in eri folder.

Once this file is deleted, restrarted phone.
I used GSK, dialled *228, input 9 digit pin Number.

After sometime, Reliance voice said
"Your device is activated. Your Phone Number is xxxxxxxxxx"
After 4 hours of activation now I am able to use Reliance CDMA Network.

One month struggle came to an end.

Thanks again hero121, for uploading ROM without LGCanvas.

Thanks to all helped me to achieve this success directly or indirectly.

I will post the steps to be followed, tomorrow.

Re: CDMA not working in india

Dear headhair

I am very happy upon your success of CDMA working.
So Now I am more interested in to work my phone also in CDMA.
So here I want to know have you change your MCC MNC home SID NID or not ? Please reply.
Today I have contacted through mail to your recomended third pary MIED activator.
and he has replied to me in positive way and told there rate about Rs. 500/=
Here I want to know how you have paid him, after registration or before registration.
In your detail advice mentioned earlier, you have not mentioned about to change any MCC MNC home SID NID number. I think it is not necessary but not sure, you can confirm it.
Another thingh again I want to give you double thanks that your funda to change LgeDialParser.dll has worked for me. As in past I have written to you that I made rom with built in your LgeDialParser.dll file has not worked for me. But to day I found that there is two numbers LgeDialParser.dll file are there in my kitchen. one in OEM and another in LGE phone canvas .ext file. I had changed only in oem file. that was the mistake. To day I have changed both the file with your LgeDialParser.dll file and made a ROM with LGE V7 phone canvas and Now it is dialing *228 and getting connected to reliance tower. There is no need to extract LGE phone canvas. All these thingh we got after a hard labour and full cooperation of the members like you and Pizzaboy.
Now I have to registered my MEID number as well as your help to get working CDMA in my set also.
Please reply of my some questions mentioned above.
Thanks

Re: CDMA not working in india

Dear hero121,

No need to know things like SID, MID, MIN, MCC, MNC & all.

1) Register MEID with Reliance.
2) Check whether your MEID is registered.
3) Please get 26 digit AKey for your mobile (That's very important) from whom you registered MEID
4) Use QPST->Connect Phone->EFS explorer->Look for /ERI folder->
Right click ERI.BIN-> Delete
5) Restart your phone
6) Input AKey (dial 2539** in CDMA mode, you will get AKey box)
7) All completing this procedures, go to reliance Stores, Either get GSK (New Number-with 9 digit Pin Number) or ask them to transfer your existing CDMA number
to the set.
8) In case GSK, you can do it yourself. Dial *228, input 9 digit number. You are activated.

9) VERY IMPORTANT.
Once you registered, please back-up NVs using LGNPST or QPST.
(Also Note Your MIN, SID, NID, MCC, MNC - in case you missed your NV)
That's all

Quote:

Here I want to know if you do a hard reset to your phone will it not reset to its previous position ?
Yes. Phone will revert to its original position. That's why I recommend you have a NV backup once you get registered to reliance. If you have NV, No problem. Personally after registration I have backed up NV. I flashed 3 ROMs, restored NV. Happy with working.
