1) make sure you have openSSH installed on your phone

2) make sure it is enabled (install SBsettings from cydia for easy toggle)

3) if you are trying to SSH via wifi it should work fine, if you are using USB Cable make sure you use the itunnel command found in the post in my sig.

lemme know if this worked.

yeah you have to use the included itunes file AND the batch file, run the batch file.

Also copy the "Lockdown" from

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple\

and paste into

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\

username is the name you use to login.

let me know if this worked.

yes! good job =D>

the folders on the left are your personal files, the folders on the right are the iphone folders.

you navigate the iphone folders to put whatever you want in them, for instance your put all of your Themes in the theme folder so that winterboard can load them, you put your ringtones in the ringtone folder to use them, and you can put vwallpapers in the correct folders for custom video wallpapers. If you are on a 2G/3G you can use "Cycorder" to record videos and you SSH to retrieve the videos.

what specifically are you trying to do?

you got it to work earlier what did you change?

1) ensure you have SSH toggled on from you iphone

2) In settings, change screen lock to "never" so your screen stays on while SSHing

3) make sure you have the itunnel running via the batch file

it should work again.

You can do anything you want basically. for right now I would use it to install themes and ringtones. If you want to do something else that is not described in this forum, let me know and we'll get you going.

also, which Iphone are you using? (2G, 3G, 3GS)?

click on the link in my signature, it has all of that in the SSH section and in the Ringtone section (first post).

root/stash/themes (for themes) just move the theme folder there and winterboard will recognize it.

root/stash/ringtones for ringtones, just move the m4r file in there and you can set it thru settings.

make sure you drag it in winterboard to the top of the list of items (the higher ones override the lower ones) and uncheck "saurik" or any other themes that might be checked, then wait for the respring :headbang:

Re: Winscp Error

None of that works, the only thing it did was install proswitcher...which has nothing to do with the theme right?

Maybe there is something wrong with that htc theme?

Ill try another.

yes, you should just unzip the theme and put it in the folder.

like lets say you wanted this theme

http://www.mbtheme.com/Iphone_theme/...1-1_42267.html

you have to do a little more than that, but it should still load the wallpaper and icons after a respring.

why don't u go ahead and restart the whole phone and try it again.

Man that is weird. Pro Switcher is just your task manager it has nothing to do with winterboard.

just so I get this straight, you do have winterboard open and do have the theme selected right? Can you post a couple of screen shots?

(hold the home key and press the top power button, it will take a screen shot, just save it on your pc and upload it here)

open cydia, go to packages, and uninstall proswitcher, then re-install winterboard, restart, then reset theme.

I would honestly at this point back-up everything, do a restore to 3.1.2, and jailbreak using Spirit.
