First things first...

All credit and thanks to Drellisdee. These roms were created with his simple kitchen.

These are not an example of his excellent work - I used his kitchen - he makes roms way beyond these.

Next...

I am not an experienced creator of ROM's. These are a few of my first (and only attempts thus far). So if you need a lot of support with technical problems - I apologize in advance - bc I will probably not be able to provide that.

This is a simple Rom made with the Doctor's (Drellisdee) kitchen.

6.5.

Titanium only.

Build 21874.

No Sense (hence Nonsense).

No VZW Stuff (VVM, Nav. etc.)

I made this Rom for those that do not use the Sense UI. Why have it on your phone using up all that space? I know there won't be a great deal of interest in a Rom like this -but for the few people out there that are using a different UI (Throttle Launcher, Mobile Shell, iPhoneToday, Androkkid, etc.) and just want a simple, light, basic, stock Rom -here is a blank page for you to start with.

So this is basically the stock 3.04 Rom without the Sense UI and without VZW stuff. And maybe a few tweaks. But if you are looking for "custom", or "eye candy" or "bling" -wrong thread.

Oh yeah- I did not include Opera browser because so many people use so many different versions. I figured why get stuck with 9.7 if you want 10 Final or Mini 5. So have your favorite browser ready to install.

This is Simple_Sense.

In other words this is the stock 3.04 rom, build 21874, Sense 2.0 minus Verizon stuff. So -this is WinMo 6.5. This is not 6.5.3 or 6.5.5. I cannot do it in 6.5.5. Not because I won't -but because I don't have the knowledge. Sorry.

Just to let you know...

I am currently using this rom

I hope it does work for the few of you guys that just want something simple with Sense and without Verizon Stuff.

Also - I did not include Opera or Skyfire so have your favorite web browser ready to install.

MP, thanks for posting your ROM. I D/L'd earlier and it's great so far. I see nothing amiss yet. I have 100+mb free RAM on a fresh boot and it is very quick. I've been looking for this. A "nonsense" ROM. Gotta love that. LOL. :headbang:

100mb? I'm surprised not more, I'm using Project Orange ROM[Mar 25] rom and it has almost 200mb at first boot with Sense 2.5.2012, I'm not saying this is really a issue but just surprised...

Sorry my mistake, I just realized you was speaking ram, what is the available storage space...

When I first booted I had 225mb of storage space. Now after loading everything (all my apps and programs -most of which I install on storage- I have 200mb). And now I boot with 90mb RAM at 50%.

Honestly -I didn't cook anything and I don't know how. All I did was download The Doctor's (Drellisdee) Kitchen. Run it. Uncheck Manilla, VZW, and Opera -and the Kitchen spit this out for me. I don't know nothing about cookin' nothing.

I did this in 15 minutes and I have no idea what I am doing. So really I was kinda surprised after a few people asked for a simple Rom like this that a chef didn't just post it. No disrespect to them- but they could have done this in 5 minutes.

I think that so many people want the latest and greatest that maybe they just couldn't believe that anyone would just want 1 simple Rom with no bells and whistles. And not have to flash every day. Who knows? I know one thing -you gain a lot of respect for them after you try and start to learn how to do what they are doing. You find out it requires a whole bunch of knowledge.

Thanks for response as well as the empty rom, this will allow me to play with a lot of customizations that Ive been considering but didn't want to worry about space. Maybe one day I will look into messing around around with the kitchen myself..

295mb storage

I tried orange and had 90>92 RAM on a fresh boot. For me it's not having more storage as I always have plenty.(sd) I've noticed any ROM I've used without sense cooked in seems to have more RAM and is quicker. So I know storage and program are two different things, but why 10>12 mb diff with this if not having sense, isn't it. It's all NONSENSE! LOL!

ROM works great. After the last release of NRG's titanium ROM (very buggy for some reason--no cdma settings), I decided to try something else. Good call on leaving out Opera. I was sick of having two different versions installed. Pair this along with bsb tweaks (to turn on things like glyph cache), and you've got a clean and powerful little setup.

I just got the PPCKitchen and am starting to experiment with it. Until then -if you need an app to customize your start menu a can recommend three that I always install on 6.5...

it allows you to custumize your start menu with the ability to create folders and group all your apps/programs together the way you want them.

2. JWMD Icon Changer V2.6b for Windows Mobile 6.5

this one allows you to move your apps up or down where you want them (not "move to top?" or "move to bottom". It will also put your apps in alphabetical order by ascending or descending.

Also this one allows you to replace the apps ugly icon with a custom icon.

This removes the "honeycomb style start menu and replaces it with a list style. I personally cannot stand the honeycomb style. Just my personal preference though.

I think it's awesome that someone did this. The problems I see with the other ROMs is basically this:

Pre-installed apps that are constantly being updated by the vendor (like google maps, Bing, Opera, etc.). If you try to install the latest version of said application, I find that you end up with 2 icons for the same app.

I would like to see the barebones ROM with the latest version of Sense installed though and just the essential Verizon requirements to get it up and running so that I can install and uninstall whatever I want as they get released by the developers.

Wildman -never heard of "Neo". What the heck is it. And in fact -no offense- but I do not like Titanium. I use a UI (and you will probably hate this) called "iPhoneToday" ("boo boo" "If you like the iPhone so much just buy an iPhone")

I said it so no one else would have to. I do not like the iPhone. I like the fact that the UI uses very little resources.

Yatman - I am no chef. Barely was able to get this going. I don't know why someone wouldn't do this for you. I will see what I can come up with. Probably not much though. Busy right now with other stuff.

Neo is a nice skin for titanium made by greatbal but since you said you are not into titanium this may not be for you then....

That dialer is a custom theme for a software callers Phonex. I have a area I stated to share a number of mine and other designers themes for this application at www.forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=118800.. You can download program and use for the 15 day trial...

That theme wasn't my design, I just resized it to a WVGA theme because it was originally a WQVGA for the omnia that designer carries.

If you decide to use it let me know and I will post it, Im in the progress on rebuilding images to have a clean WVGA theme.

I haven't got any feedback. I might have been a butthead to post a rom without testing it. In retrospect -not sure if I should have done that. But I have got my phone just the way I want it and I don't want to mess it up.

Some of these guys flash a new rom everyday. Maybe we could entice them into some beta testing for us? I won't even ask for a donation (lol). And they can report back if it works. I will see what I can do.

This rom is very very simple, very clean, fast and smooth. i have only a broblem now that is how to lock the phone :D, could you tell me how to set the Lock key at the home screen, replace the "Camera".
