Tethering / Phone as a Modem

Howdy!

I have seen where people have used their data plans as internet connections for their laptops via their bluetooth connection, without paying extra for "Phone as a Modem."

How do you do that? When I try to connect via the Bluetooth PAN, I get an error (Code 67, something about vision?).

I have bluetooth connections on both laptops, the HTC Vogue with a Sprint Family Everything Data plan.

If this should be posted somewhere else I apologize, I could not find it!

Thanks in advance for your ideas!

I've never done it through bluetooth with my vogue, but if you want to tether without getting charged, just run the attached cab that makes the registry changes needed to do it. I always just attach my phone directly, so I don't know about the bluetooth problem. Also, all of the custom ROMs that are made specifically for Sprint already have the registry change in it, so if you have one of them you're fine

Thanks IDoc!

I can't say that I am now tethered (still some glitches), but I am hopefully one step closer.

Now to figure out why my laptop won't recognize the connection.

Will do.

It worked today, and when I posted an ad on Craigslist, the website (in Firefox) acted just like it was on my phone, even requiring a text message code to post.

We'll see.

Try PDANET. you can attach your phone through a cable and use that program to run your phone as a modem.

What if I don't want the cable? I want to connect via my laptops Bluetooth.
