Go to this thread:http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=78019 Download and install the tethering stealth mode cab. Then to use your phone as a modem just connect it via usb and open up Internet Sharing on your TP2 and your computer should recognize the connection.:)

Using Mega 23504.5.5 (ver2) on my bellvogue (fresh install, didn't have to install stealth mode) and self serve app isn't reporting any changes to my balance. I'm in rural area and this blows my puny dialup connection out of the water!

Thanks IDoc!

I can't say that I am now tethered (still some glitches), but I am hopefully one step closer.

Now to figure out why my laptop won't recognize the connection.

Do you have activesync or windows mobile device center installed on your PC? If so, can you sync your device with your PC? What OS do you have on your PC? Have you done the ICS reg edits for tethering? If you click on ICS and your device connects and your pc does not see the connection then the problem is most likely with your pc.

Could someone explain step by step how to do this tethering thing. My internet sharing is REALLY slow and I would like to try something different. I know the basics of data transfer on the phone to pc but thats about it. If you could talk me through the process like I am a 2 year old it would be very helpful. I have the plain old HTC touch from alltel. Thanks

First of all , soft reset your device and let it start up normally . After it has started up completely install this cab:

http://download.ppchaven.com/CDMA%20...SharingFIX.cab

Then after you have installed the cab wait a minuite , then soft reset your device and let it start up completely. Turn off WiFi on your pc and disconnect or disable any wired internet connection like dsl or cable . Then connect your device to your pc via usb cable. Then on your device go to Programs and click on Internet Sharing. Then after it opens click on Connect in the lower left hand corner. Your pc should recognize the connection and show a little globe or two little computers connected together on the taskbar on your pc. That's it ! You're Tethering! :)

Thanks for the step by step for two year olds. Just to post my results for general FYI, I'm using US Cellular and I installed the internet fix cab, but then the "connect" was grayed out. I uninstalled it and it allowed me to connect. I just got my phone three weeks ago and it's still stock/locked, so I guess USCC phones come ready to go for internet sharing...at least mine did.

"This is gonna be GREAT!!"
(OT - five points to whomever can tell me what movie that's from)
