Rev. A problem

If I enable Rev. A in EPST on my Verizon xv6900, it'll connect to 1X, not EVDO. If I set Rev. A to be disabled, it'll connect to EVDO but no Rev. A speed.

Official Verizon ROM 3.14.605.1, radio 3.37.78. I think this is the latest VZ ROM that enables Rev. A, right?

Any idea?

Re: Rev. A problem

I have the same kind of issue. I know that Rev A is around in my area becasue earlier this year when i still had Alltel my Touch was registering at Rev A connections and now since i have gotten my Verizon XV 6900 it only connects at EVDO and is never at Rev A. I am running the same ROM and Radio version because i guess i was one of the lucky ones that had the new software preloaded and it said that it came with Windows 6.1 and was Rev A ready. Soft reset didnt change anything. Didnt know if it was something that the big V still is working on with getting these Vogues running on Rev A or something i need to do on the phone either in the settings or what not.

That did the trick - did a hard reset (did not flash again) and now Rev. A is truly enabled!

Thank you and will send you a donate if I still have some money in my paypal account.

Update: just sent you $2.07, that's all left in my account.

Re: Rev. A problem

In EPST there is an option to enable or disable Rev A. If you enabled it and it is connected to EVDO, you can go to speedtest.net. If uploading speed can hit 250KB, it is Rev A. You may disable Rev A and enable it to see any difference.

Re: Rev. A problem

when you did the hard reset did it change the indicator from EV to rA or did you just run the speed test and its running at Rev A speeds? i was spoiled with Alltel showing the rA indicator to tell us its running at Rev A.

Re: Rev. A problem

Before the hard reset, the sign turns into 1x and speedtest confirmed it's indeed 1x speed. After hard reset, the sign stays as EV and speedtest confirms to be Rev A.
