unlocking & Flasing rom

I was just wondering if someone could link me to a sticky or otherwise on how to properly unlock and flash a verizon xv6900. I think I wanna go with nfsfans winmo6.5, but I am new at this and I wanna make sure I do it right. Don't need another paperweight. Also, has anyone run into any problems getting their actual phone to work or mms to work. Reason is, these are vital to my business and they seriously need to work after I do this.
