GPS Registry Setting

Hopefully this helps someone & it probably will not work for everyone.

I know that there are many different configurations out there. I had to hard reset my vogue about three weeks ago, not a big deal. As I have done this countless times. On this particular occasion it was taking extremely long for my GPS to lock. Last week I changed [HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL GPS]
\EnableAGPS = 1 setting. I changed it to a 0. Know I am getting super fast locks in under 30 secs. After my phone has been off or gone to suspend mode it usually lock in 5 secs. This is quicker than I have even been able to get GPS locks.

I never let the customizations run with the stock ROM

ROM - NFSFAN's 1.15 VZW
Radio - 3.37.78
Using TomTom
No Data Plan

I have an extra Vouge and using it without carrier as GPS navigator. I wonder why I got a poor GPS signal on this phone if I compare it to my other Vouge with Sprint? Does anyone know what registry setting should I set if I just want to use this phone as GPS neviagor only? I am also looking for a naked ROM since I don't care about phone or internt.

well if you don't have internet on the phone,
then aGPS will not work anyways.
so the phone might try to use the agps first,
and it might make the phone lag when trying to get a lock....
not sure though...just a theory.

also, that's probably why you got great singals with your sprint phone,
it probably has aGPS enabled on that one.

With or without aGPS this phone still get lock but I got only 3 to 4 satellites it I compare it to my other Vogue with sprint plan which get 8 or 9 satellites.

Try using my clean rom, its really "naked"

(or we wait have a PornROM coimng, that will be really naked)

This is normal to have 3-4 sat locks when your phone is on standalone GPS and that's probably the best you can get out of it, I usually get 4-5 sat lock inside my room but I am still in quite open area, I am sure if you would try in an open area you should be able to get at least 7 locks.
On the other Vogue you get more locks b'cos you have assistes gps (agps) on it that helps the standalone GPS to locate the satellite.

By the way you might want to change agps reg. to 0 on the vogue that doesn't have a carrier, that way phone will not look for agps.

I don't mind to wait or try any ROM but all ROM the GPS could receive 3 to 4 satellites only and I don't know why.

I am not sure it that is what supposed to be. I put my both Vogue on the open area, the one with Sprint plan got 9 to 10 satellite and the other Vogue without the plan got only 3 to 4 satellites. For the Vogue with the plan, even I turn Fly mode on, it still get more satellite.
