oem questions

hey everyone,
so out of curiosity i have been searching around for whatever updates i can find for my htc touch. I found every package from an iolite rom dump and was able to convert the drivers package into an oem. this along with utils from the iolite i put them into my rom. is this alright? can i get anything benneficial out of this? lol i really just figure everything out via trial and error, but this....might be alittle harder to notice, unless it crashes. haha

also, some of my oems do not even like...function. one case is my htc wait animation, it puts the files in, but i have to install the cab as well in order for it to actually take effect. why is this? another example would be the schaps config tool.

is there another better way of updating sys files? lol

Thats the whole idea!It all depends.Just like d3dm samsung driver:for some ROMs it makes overall UI work faster,for others its slowing down..tests,tests and more tests lol.In my 6.5 I spent 2 days looking inside of every dll to find damn speaker icons lol.
Like WDM said,the group effort and sharing-thats what we need.

haha ahh ok, well the iolite drivers disabled my radio, battery bar, and the ability to use my sd card, i didnt even bother to test further lol. im seeing what the htc util does now

what about my other question though? sometimes the oems i make dont actually take effect till i install them again via cab, despite the fact the files are already there. i never understood that. i only knew that even though i had to reinstall it, the rom was still overall faster. lol

Sometimes (in most cases) OEMizers making an errors in rgu file and initflashfile.txt
My best example is 2009 google maps&GPS,I added to iolite OEM in eternlwolfs thread.
I had to install the original cab to see where those files going to,which directories created and then manually edited initflash.txt
For big applications is almost impossible to make OEM identical to its original cab.The good news is we have Rstoyguy

ah pity...any easy way to fix that?
cause i def am not in the mood to search through all 200 files of my keyboard cab that im trying to oem lol

on a side note. htc utils seems to work quite fine, iono what was wrong with the iolite drivers. lol menu enhancement didnt seem to work the second time as an oem. although the first time i tried it it worked. and the htc iolite keyboard didnt seem to come through either, i think it got overwritten by the opal keyboard lol

You can use tierautoinstall if it works in your kitchen.for a keyboards in cab its probably the best solution

do you know by chance what the most common dll updates that are available right now? cuase right now im just shooting and guessing lol

no idea.I think easiest way to use Drellisdees build updates+pagepool and scrolling speed tweaks
