usb to headphone jack help

just bought this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Mini-USB-to-Headphone-Jack-adapter-for-Motorola-Razr-V3_W0QQitemZ220363898542QQihZ012QQcategoryZ20336QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

obviously it's not "plug and play", does this even work for the touch? if so how?

Re: usb to headphone jack help

I dont think that that adapter will work at all. The pin configuration is different.

HTC products have 11 pin ExtUSB and that is a 4-5 mini USB.

HTC products use ExtUSB, which is an HTC proprietary connector that features a USB (with power) and Headset connections in a single combined connector.

You need something like this.

I got one more like this..

http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-audio-Adapter-Mic-HTC-Touch-Dual-2-P5500-Pro-HD_W0QQitemZ260340841569QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDA_Acc essories?hash=item260340841569&_trksid=p3286.c0.m1 4&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1% 7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

that way you don't have to pul it to answer a call whe you are listening to music and I also use it in the car to play music into the aux input of my radio, agin so I can answer a call when I am listening to music.

I've got the exact one that was listed... it's great.
The beauty is that you can plug in standard headphones, and it also includes a mic on it (the rectangular thing) so that you're headphones can be used as if it were a headset. Works like a charm.

Re: usb to headphone jack help

I bought that adapter from radio shack and it didn't work in my car(my receiver has a 3.5" input) and nothing came through. I switched back to the stock dual splitter and everything was fine. Kind of glad I did, because my Receiver has both a USB and 3.5" plug, the USB charges and the 3.5" sends the music through the receiver. The only down side is if I get a call I have to unplug it or use a bluetooth headset because I can hear the caller but the mike somehow is diabled.
