Dropping Network with Android on my VZW Touch

Hi all. I have a great, stable and extremely satisfying install of Android running on my VZW Touch. I couldn't be happier... except for one snag. It seems like my phone if left booted on Android all day at some point drops the network (verizon). My wife already yelled at me for not answering texts and calls almost everyday because my phone is dead. It's almost like Verizon in pinging my phone and when I have android running they pull the signal. Is that possible? Anyone else having this problem?
