GPS disconnects when screen turns off!!!

I've searched the forums again and again but I can't see if anyone is still having this problem or if there is a fix.

When the GPS rom update from sprint came out there was a big problem with the GPS not working once the screen turned off. I still have this problem. If I'm using google maps with GPS, and the screen turns off, I have to soft reset before GPS works again.

It's annoying, but I can't see anyone who still has this issue. I'm using the original Sprint Rom from last summer. GPS locks aren't an issue, I get locks in under 20 seconds.
