Can't Sync with Vista x64 (WMDC)
I know this has been talked to in great length, but after hours of searching and trying nothing has worked.
I need help syncing with Vista x64 (WMDC) on my Sprint Touch (Vogue) Ok so I changed my own cooked rom to a Rom with Manilla2D. To be specific, its Crystal v6.1. I have always had issues with syncing with vista, but I've always been able to get it working. Now I can't even make the first connection. I have tried unchecking and checking the Advanced USB option under USB to PC connections. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver from Vista. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling WMDC too. It does however work on my XP laptop. I'm honestly at the end of my rope. I love my new rom, but I need to be able to sync with my desktop. Any ideas at all? |

Found this
Finally got to sync. 1) Uninstall Active Sync. 2) Uninstall HTC under Windows CE Devices in Device Manager 3) Unplugged USB 4) Reboot PC 5) Soft Reset PDA 6) Install Activesync to a different custom folder 7) Cradle phone and plug USB |

Re: Can't Sync with Vista x64 (WMDC)
Sultans correct vista uses windows mobile device which i guess is the WMDC acronym you refered to that hoover questioned. WMDC is a pia, as is vista in my opinion. this same subject was covered in a thread here.
i had to uninstall WMDC several times til i got it to tether correctly. i doubt it is your rom that is causing probs. The PC is looking at the divice and asking what it is. At the least it will connect to an unknown device IMO irregardless of the software on the device itself. Since I got the tether to work I have had some problems but they are rare. I would focus on the PC and WMDC not the phone and its ROM.
