Verizon XV6900

I didn't see this on any other forums but whenever i'm on a call and i receive another call, when i click over to answer the phone the ringtone plays...the entire ringtone, all the way thru while im on the phone with someone. The only way to stop it is to turn off the screen. Anyone else had this problem?

Re: Verizon XV6900

i do apologise, but i have not run into this.

the only thing i can think of, though it may be a pain, and inconvienient...unhelpful even, would be to hard reset. if that doesnt work, id reflash..and i know that may not be something you want to do either. but id give it a shot anyway. if you go that route, remember to back up your importiant data and contacts. read this thread for info on backing up, if you dont already know.

hope this helps!

Re: Verizon XV6900

your quite welcome. though im sorry it didnt help. i recently noticed that the link i tried to post didnt...post.. i am reletively new to this site, and forums in general, so i dont quite know how some things work. that said, i do hope you have (if you didnt already know how) figured out how to back up. i use sktools myself. but thats a bit off topic.

i myself am not familliar with ringo mobile, so i decided to look it up. if i found the right thing, it appears to be a ringtone app for the windows mobile based phone, which is appropriate, considering the type of problems your having. since i have not personaly used it, i cannot say for sure if that is related to the problem. i will test it later in the day, seeing as how its almost 2 am where i am. i was looking to reflash my phone soon amyway.(i know that its not nessicary to reflash just for that app, but i figured that starting fresh, and maybe going to omj clean to help simulate the problem, if i come across any. it will also help that i too have an xv6900)
for the moment, i would recomend using MP3 TRIMMER. it is a little like ringo, but you make the ringtones. i have had no trouble with this app, and i wish the same for you.

good luck, and i will post back later once i redo my phone.

Re: Verizon XV6900

ok, so after "vigerous" testing, i have come to no definate conclusions. i reflashed to the same rom u have, downloaded the free version of ringo (which may be why im not getting consistant results), and simulated a call comming in on a current call. my ringtone did not play while switching to the other line, but i did hear a beep. and not just one beep, but 5 in a row, durring the call. it was pretty quick though. but from what i can gather, seeing as how the fact that i have the demo, is that ringo could vary well be the cause of the problem. i wish i could be of more help, but i think thats all i can do without paying for the full version. if i was more skilled, i could probably provide a fix, but at the moment, i am unable to do so. if anyone here has the ability to provide a fix, it would be greatly apretiated, seeing as how this program was paid for. if no fix is available, i would contact the company and see what they can do about the problem, or perhaps a refund. i would offer to send back the product key, and suggest that they void the key. but thats only as a last resort.

once again, i apologise that i couldnt be of more help.

best of luck,

TZ

I've had this problem too, on a fairly stock Verizon Touch, the only solution I found was to use Audacity or the likes to cut the ringtone down to a shorter duration, even this "solutin" is just a band-aid to this problem.
