Where is the definitive Verizon upgrade info?

You all know how can you spend hours sifting through the info on these threads. On and on and on and on...

Since I'm new to cook'n a 6900 (I've done my share of 6700) I am wondering for Verizon users is there any steps before I simply burn one of the wm6.1.rar files.

I've seen discussions on radio versions, gps, ect. Does any one thread sum it up for Verizon peeps...as the Spring Vogue'rs are just confusing me!

which looks to be a way to release the gps for the xv6800 and apparently works for the new v6900 wm6.1 without unlocking the phone? i was wondering if anyone has tried this without unlocking the phone and if it works. i trust xda and ppc but not one post on phonenews.

I flashed the VZW rom from from phone news and the Vahalla gps .cab
If you are stock all you need to do is flash - no unlocking needed
When a carrier releases an update no unlocking is needed. How many
of the general public know about unlocking phones ( 1% ) ?
The rom does the unlocking and installation.
All I did was flash the rom and the Vahalla cab- no problems.
Now I have Rev A and unlocked GPS that works great & its FREE.
