Upgrades/changes without new ROM??

I am wondering if there are people here that have made changes but have not gone the full approach of flashing their phones, upgrading their radios, etc.

For example, I have edited my registry to tweak my HTC Cube to have the apps I want rather then the ones someone else thinks I want, and have made other changes as well.

Has anyone installed Winterface? What are their thoughts? I also use a bluetooth mouse and keyboard with mine Touch when I am in meetings for note taking and love it, but also did try the RedFly for about 2 weeks and didn't like that as much.

Are there other examples out here?
