Help With Contacts....

i have a pim file but for some reason when i replace it with the one in these roms it kills the signal bars and it won't work...any solutions or suggestions?
is there a way to extract the contacts from the pim and put them in another pim

Hmm, that seems to suggest the next trial would be with phone shut down completely (i.e. Flight mode). I'd also suggest closing anything that'd have any need to use pim.vol, such as Contacts, Outlook, Messaging,...
