Default Calendar

I am running the rom that comes with HTC Diamond theme. Is it possible to change the default calendar link on the home page to open a third party calendar application instead of the default calendar?

I actually came across that app but then I would prefer to make it run without having to install another application.

So far the only way I can think of is to rename the third party calendar exe file to calendar.exe and replace it in Windows but that does not allow me to replace the calendar file already in Windows since its a system file.
