HTC Nike Neon400 (Touch Dual with Diamond Processor)

Hey guys,

Since we don't currently have an HTC Nike forum here, and out of the roms available for the HTC Nike (HTC Touch Dual), none so far as I can find work for the canadian CSDMA Neon400 offered by Bell and Telus. I figured here would be a good place to start a thread.

The HTC Nike Neon400 is much different than all other Touch Dual phones, as it uses the same processor as the HTC Diamond. I was comparing the 2, and besides having less ram, the internals of the Neon400 version of the Touch Dual is pretty much Identicle to the HTC Diamond.

I need to sim unlock this thing and find a decent rom, because of the similarity between the 2 devices, should I be looking for a Diamond rom for my Neon400?

If anyone is in the same position please let me know what you have discovered.

This phone is a bit different from the touch as well as the diamond I'm not sure if you have been to xda or not but here is a direct link to the Nike upgrade forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=404 this should get you started and there should be plenty of stuff for you in there sorry I could not help much more then this.

i noticed the word sim in your post. if its a sim card your talking about then it sounds like you have a GSM version.

not sure if it has a sim card, havn't received it yet in mail from bell.

but it is CDMA version, and its neon400. been to xda developers, the neon400 was only released in sept 2008, so its bran new, it uses same chipset proc as diamond as well as same GPU, hence it is capable of all the 3d that the diamond can do.

but software wise, its comes with same as previous touch duals, with the exception of gps software. Rumors of wifi as well, but no working driver yet.

Due to this XDA developers have no roms for it, and since this exact model is isolated only to canadian providers there is little to no support or community for it.

All i want is to unlock all the stuff that bell locks out of the phone, and to be able to tether/modem.

Bell ships it with WM 6.1 Pro.

Did you get any further info? I got mine one from telus and lurking around to get an unlocker.

Same here. PPCGeeks needs an official section for this phone to make it easier to sort out the information available

That's not always the case. There have been a couple of Sprint phones that have a SIM slot for overseas usage. Off the top of my head, the Samsung Ace and Blackberry 8830.

Maybe those phones are both CDMA and GSM I heard this was possible

But youre probably looking for a USPL unlock or a CID to enable you to flash ROMS.
