Verizon XV6900 GPS

I would like to unlock the GSM capability on the Verizon XV6900 which seems the same as a Sprint Touch. I have looked on this and other forums, and cannot locate the patch, if any exist; they seem to exist for every other phone.

Also, is there a reliable 6.1 ROM update for this phone, I think that would solve the problem as well. Evidently Sprint has released one for their version of this phone, but I presume you can't use that on a Verizon phone.

Ok first I'm going to assume you meant GPS and not GSM. Verizon is a CDMA network not GSM. that out of the way, you're going to need to unlock the phone, upgrade your radio and rom. there's a guide around here somewhere, i'll see if i can dig it up for ya.

The tutorial was moved over to ppchaven but it is pretty simple. I don't think there is any real "Patch" that you can apply to get it working without doing what was stated above.

Theres a guide over at XDA that gets aGPS working on the Verizon's touch.

Best you do this after you upgrade radio/rom. OMJ's custom is a good rom, also WDM has a nice rom both loaded with goodies. Their threads can be found in this forum.
