Re: Removing Opera from Manila2D interface - FIXED!

Hi, I'm trying to do the same and no luck.
Any chance you can post/send the iexplore.exe that you got from someone? I'd really appreciate it as I do not like Opera.

Re: Removing Opera from Manila2D interface - FIXED!

Applied the change, and it works.

I get an error every time I launch IE with this saying it is having a problem connecting, but I just have to dismiss it each time. Easier than using Opera...

Re: Removing Opera from Manila2D interface - FIXED!

It works perfectly;

EXCEPT one thing, when i launch the browser from the TouchFlo, the home page, i have set to google, doesn't load. It says;

in the location bar "http:///home" instead of www.google.ca

then the message comes up "The page can not be displayed because the server could not be found or a DNS error occurred."

If i launch PIE from the start menu it goes directly to google perfectly. also all the favorites from the TouchFlo work perfectly too.

any ideas?

Re: Removing Opera from Manila2D interface - FIXED!

Go here in the registry and see if you can change it.

HKLM/Software/HTC/InternetWidget/Customized/
BannerUrl = Url to open,
BannerUrlText = Text for shortcut that shows on manilla

Sorry I am really new to doing any kind of modifications to these. I had a HTC P4000 before and the only mod i did on that was the HTC Home Customizer. So as far as going to the registry i am really not sure what is meant my this. Could you please explain this a little more. Thanks.

What Cody is stating, you need to use a registry editor like you might in a Windows PC and browse to the location he gave and make the changes stated - let me clear it up a bit for you

Main Location -
HKey Local Machine/Software/HTC/InternetWidget/Customized/

Item to browse the above for and change to the settings listed below -

BannerUrl = Url to open,
BannerUrlText = Text for shortcut that shows on manilla

Here are a couple screenshots to help you know what is meant

That should get you started there

Re: Removing Opera from Manila2D interface - FIXED!

Surrrrrrrrre, right as I was writing the walkthrough you come and tell him how to do it. lol.
Actually I kept getting a lil sidetracked, and I'm ****in thirsty,
thinking bout grabbin a beer, but they're warm.

But anyways, here you go.
I included the screenshots in the rar labeled as screenshot 1,2,3etc.
along with the program cab, and a copy of thispost in a notepad document.

Get the attached cab and install it.
(copy to device/sd card, tap it, select install to device)

Before we start editing manilla,
you need to disable it by going to start > settings > today > click items tab > uncheck Touchflo (could also be called manilla)

Once it's installed,
open the program,
(It should look like screenshot 1)

Click on the plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
(That should expand a bunch of more items like in screen shot 2.)

Then scroll down and click on the plus sign next to software
(should look like screenshot 3)

Then click on the plus sign next to HTC
(screenshot 4)

Scroll down to Manilla2D, click the plus sign.
(Depending on what rom you have,
it might say Manilla3d, but should be the same exact steps.
I do not have a Manilla3d device, so I cannot tell you for sure.)
[Screenshot 5]

Then Scroll down to Internet Widget,
again click the plus sign next to it.
[screenshot 6]

Then double tap Customized and it should look like screenshot 7.

Where it says BannerURL at the bottom(screenshot , tap the name.

You'll get a screen like screenshot 9, Edit the "Value Data" with the
URL(Website Address) of the website you want it to open when initially Launched.
After editing that, press ok in the top right corner,
and then yes to save the changes.

Then down where you found BannerURL, you'll find "BannerURLText"
In the "Value Data" box like in screenshot 10,
you put the name of what you want shown on manilla.
When you're done editing the name,
press ok in the top right corner, and then press yes to save.

Now go back to Start > Settings > Today >
click the Items Tab > recheck Touchflo (could also be called Manilla)
Attached Files
File Type: rar Walkthrough.rar (145.8 KB, 20 views) Click for barcode!
