Re: Hard and Soft Reset Question
Soft Reset is basically like restarting your pc, nothing will be changed, to soft reset hold the power button for afew seconds, then choose yes when prompted.
Hard Reset will reinstall the operating software you are running on the phone, this will erase all your data (not SDcard), and bring the phone to a stock condition ( or stock condition of whatever ROM you have installed). To hard reset, hold the "call" button & "call end" button, then press the little reset button with you stylus. next time just use the search function of the site Last edited by avgas100; 09-18-2008 at 01:26 AM. |

Re: Hard and Soft Reset Question
Bootloader mode is where you can upgrade the ROM [install a new version of Windows Mobile] from your PC.

Re: Hard and Soft Reset Question
As a "recent" n00b, I have to say this is a great little thread of information. I came to get a reminder that you don't lose the stuff on your SD card with a hard reset. For some reason I always forget whether or not it does. Thanks to the OP for asking the questions. A little refresher for some of us is always nice!

Re: Hard and Soft Reset Question
It's a good idea to remove the SD when flashing any ROM.
