IE not connecting

I have IE and Opera installed on a cooked cricket rom. I can connect fine to the web using Opera but when I try IE I get "the page can not be found" I did this because it seems that HTC Home weather uses Ie to connect to the web and get its updates. Same issue with SPB insight.

Any ideas???
