can not see windows folder from desktop file explorer

so for some reason, when i "explore" my phone from my desktop's file explorer, I can't see the windows folder. I used to be able to see it and when i use file explorer on my phone i can see it, but not from the desktop. I noticed I couldn't see a few other folders, too, like my temp folder and a few others.

Does anyone have an explaination for this? I thought I used to be able to see it. I did just upgraded to the Official 6.1 on friday... could that be it?

is this happening to anyone else? or does anyone have a fix for it at all?
