Re: tcpmp not defaulting on spring touch
Did you try going to settings and file association and checking the box for flv
Or save some time and use the youtube player it gets the videos on the youtube site and its simpler to use. For the record I didnt create it or take any credit for it. I just forgot where I originally got it from and im just passing it along. |

Re: tcpmp not defaulting on spring touch
heh, the error message says you need a new version of flash player. therefore, i recommend you get the newest version of flash player. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashp...ds/player.html

Flash player 7 wont play youtube. Go to the thread to get the most updated TCPMP and Flash video bundle. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=6623 Also it will only work with with pie. so make sure your not trying it with some other mobile browser. Theres a newer TCPMP for the new rom 6.1 rom and the flash video bundle I belive is 1.4.4 it should be on that thread. After you install both .cabs make sure you soft reset then try it. |

Re: tcpmp not defaulting on spring touch
actually, i had to install flash player to get certain content to work on my phone. flash player isn't actually a media player, it is more like a codec to allow certain content to run. while flash player on its own will not play youtube videos, it may be the case that flashvideobundle may need a relatively recent version of flash player to function properly. with regard to tcpmp versions, he is probably running the correct version as the old version wouldn't even launch on wm 6.1. instead, it would crash and say some crash.txt file was being created.
anyway, give both things a try and let us know if you got it working. if not, just get youtubeplay or coreplayer. both of those are better solutions for this anyway. |

Re: tcpmp not defaulting on spring touch
I have the TCPMP and works fine with youtube. But I think I have too many flash apps. I have Flash Video Bundle, Adobe Flash Light and Macromedia Flash Player Active X. Sorry for being dumb, but which one I really need? Do I need all of them?

Re: tcpmp not defaulting on spring touch
there are quite a few different methods to play youtube videos on a ppc, and they are all badly mixed up in this thread.
1) use adobe flash player with opera mobile (not mini). this does not work very well. also possibly workable, but even less so, in netfront browser. 2) use tcmp with the flv plugin together with, say, PIE. 3) use HTC Streaming media player or similar program with again, say PIE. 4) using the program youtubeplay, which is a standalone, and does not require any other components.
