latest radio rom only
 

hey, just wondering if anyone has the latest radio, in a radio only rom, so i can just flash that without having to resetup the os. i am currently running omj's rom the last one before the latest update, im very satisfied and my touch has been flawlessly running, and i dont wanna lose that if you guys know what i mean.

I am pretty sure there is NOT a way to flash a Radio ROM only without a Hard Reset being performed at the same time. Everything will be wiped out, so back up your stuff. Flash the newest Radio ROM and then Flash OMJ's new ROMs which have been updated anyways.

So as far as I am aware, you will have to lose what you have at the moment because a Hard Reset will be performed.

that's not true. you can flash via microsd card without having it reflash the entire rom.

the radio rom linked above was ported to use with the titan. it may not work in the vogue.

Warning this radio is a 3x GPS REV a series and is not for a non- gps rom.


This is the vogue radio 3.42.50 designed for the vogue (this is not the titan port). I removed it directly from the bell rom and recomplied it as a radio only .nbh. This is a radio only rom designed to be flashed from bootloader from sd card and doesn't require a hard reset. Copy VOGUIMG.nbh to root of fat32 micro sd card 2gb or less and place phone in bootloader and it will run.

how did you extract it from bell's rom? i have tried that with nbhextract then nbhgen but the file didn't flash to the phone!?

You break it apart using nbhtool to get the spl, radio, windows image, and splash images then recompile radio only for the VOGU100 in device id.

How do you update your phone through the Microsd card. The tool needed seems to only work on titan not vogue (touch). Do you know this works on the touch?

The PPST installs a PRI that is carrier specific dont install the bell one if you have vzw.

For those who are looking for the 3.42.30 radio ONLY (i couldnt find it myself)

I pulled it from HTC's latest sprint rom using nbhtool.

Which radio did you try? Also did you format the card to fat32 and unlock the device before attempting?

Both radios attached here would work for sprint. Follow the step above, it ensures that you don't have to do a hard reset after installing these radios.

Having the radio won't lock the gps, its the stock rom in RUU_Vogue_VZW_WWE_3.14.605.1_Radio_3.37.78_Ship.ex e that will lock the gps for verizon users if they let the customization run.

However, I wouldn't use it with sprint, There is the 3.42.30 or 3.42.50.

I extracted the 3.37.78 just for Verizon users who wanted the stock radio to avoid installing the stock rom.

Depends on your area, several people have had better reception and gps with the 3.42.50..others had success with the .30. I say try them both and see which one works best for you. :)

.50 jacked my phone up and i had to reflash my rom. i have since went back to .30 and all is well.

ok, i dropped the file in the storage card, placed the phone in bootloader mode until serial was showing, and nothing happened or did i not wait long enough. how long does it take to run? memory card is formatted FAT32.

What brand is the card and is it non sdhc (2gb or less?) I have had no luck with kingston but sandisk 2gb or less always works for me.

I got a very quick flash that said 'loading no image file' my card is sandisk 1GB fat32 card with nothing else on it but the nbh file.

I am currently using the 3.42.50 radio with Verizon. I was trying to see if the .30 or the 3.37.78 would give me better reception, but both of those radios are giving me problems during installation. They install completely from bootloader, showing "Installation Complete" at the end. I then soft reset to get out of bootloader mode, but when it reboots, it says "No Radio". After the two failures, I reverted back to the .50 without an issue. Any ideas why the others won't stick? I'm currently using NFSFan's WM6.5 V13 on the XV6900 (Verizon).

if you flash the latest vzw rom it has radio 3.37.78 in it. not sure if you want to go through all that trouble but it should stick, then flash back to nfsfan's v13

Yeah, but during my excitement to reflash everything and enable gps, upgrade to WM6.5 and try the 3.42.50 radio, I never gave 3.37.78 a chance ](*,) Now that the dust has cleared, I was rethinking my radio choice. I don't have an issue with 3.42.50, but I'm not sure if it is a better idea to stick with your carriers radio...plus, I never gave it a shot with the GPS to see if 3.37.78 was any better.
