active sync wont sync with new 6.1 rom

Ive upgraded to the latest official 6.1 rom and i run XP and cant get active sync to work. My touch is recognized and starts to sync but sits in a never ending "synchronizing". Any one have any ideas how to fix this?

Assuming you don't have any synchronization set up with Exchange, I would just go into Activesync on your computer and delete the prior partnership with your phone, connect the phone to your desktop, and set up a new partnership.

You could also try going into (on your PocketPC) Start/Settings/Connections Tab/USB to PC and UNCHECK "Enable Advanced Networking".

i am also not able to activesync using bluetooth...
i was able to connect earlier using bluetooth but after updating with official sprint rom, i am unable to connect by bluetooth, though with usb cable its working fine

With blue tooth, make sure that "recieve all incoming beams" is checked in start/settings/connections/beam. I had that problem with the new rom too and that fixed it. The problem im having is syncing with the usb.

NWA:

1) Go to "activesync", "menu" and "connections" on your Touch. Make sure that the box is checked and that usb is the selected item in the drop-down list.

2) Assuming the above is already the case: Try deleting the partnership with the PC on your touch. I had this problem a while back with an exchange account. I actually had to create a new (dummy) partnership, then recreate the old partnership, change the sync settings to sync with my pc, then delete the dummy partnership.

Thanks for the tip, still doesnt work. My pc recognizes the touch but when it starts to sync it just stays on "synchronizing" forever.

Well...

I had exactly the same problem. It ended up I got a virus/trojan from somewhere and it was messing with my internet connection. Seems that Activesync needs to connect to to the internet to work (or at least you can't have a "bad" connection). Because this was my work laptop, I reformatted and reinstalled AS and my phone worked again.

So my guess is something is wrong with your PC, not your phone.

OK, Since a reformat and reinstall is a bit of an undertaking, I'm thinking there may be some additional things to try.

Have you ever done a bluetooth sync? I'm assuming you haven't.

I know I had issue doing a bluetooth sync until I installed PDANet. PDANet seems to install its own drivers (or at least seems like it enhances the existing drivers). Even if you're not interested in using it for what it's intended for--tethering your phone--I wold be interested to see what happens to your sync connection (both bluetooth and USB) after you install it.

They give yout a trail period--I think it's 15 days. May be worth trying it just to see what happens.
