My phone talks to me.......

I was sitting at my desk at work yesterday preparing for an upcoming meeting I was about to attend when the reminder I had set up in Outlook (activesync'd to my phone) popped up on my desktop as well as my phone, except my phone began to announce the appointment verbally to me, announcing the title and location. I've had this Touch since they became available from Sprint and have never had this happen. It totally threw me for a loop since I never set it up to do this. I'm running DHarvey's Black Vista ROM.

i think that might be a feature of voice command. have you fiddled with that recently? maybe even if you just recently installed a headset, that could have done it.

Exactly...sounds like Microsoft Voice Command got enabled somehow. Check the settings for it and disable the settings.

Go to Settings > Personal > Voice Command.

Highlight Calendar, and either uncheck it, or click options and uncheck "Announce Calendar Reminders".

Or just disable Voice command altogether.

I don't mind it, it just shocked the hell outta me. I thought god was reminding me about my meeting. I've never used voice command before.

Does the voice sound too much like a robot?

Actually it's pretty good. TTS has come a long way.

Yep. Freaky isn't it?

"I'm sorry Dave, but you have new email. Would you like me to read it to you? Dave? I am worried about the mission..."
