Screen won't stay off... draining battery :(

Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me why my screen keeps popping back on almost every 3-4 minutes? When i turn the screen off, it will come back on every few minutes. Yeah i'm a newb. I thought i was pretty tech savvy til i came here.

Well, dunno for sure. Do you have any notifications? email? SMS? unread voice mail? Are you syncing?

do you have some app that's trying to update and turns on the screen?

I'm having this exact problem.
I'm on the original leaked Sprint 6.1 rom
I have installed only:

Google maps
SPB Fullscreen keyboard
Skyfire browser
PointUI
Ringo
TCPMP
Google Navigator

And I have messaging setup to check my email ONCE a day (gmail into outlook)

I don't use ActiveSync.

Since you haven't installed much I would do a hard-reset to get rid of whatever is waking up your phone. Then if the problem goes away, re-install your apps one at a time.
