End call button not working while calling

hi,

on my HTC Touch the end call button does not end the call when I've been in a call for longer than 40 seconds or so. The display is still turned on, but it just won't end the call. I have to press it like 6 times, before it ends the call (usually the other side hangs up first though). When I'm in a call for 10 seconds or so, the button works right away.

The end call button seems to be working fine when I'm not in a call. I can push the green button and then the end call button and the phone jumps back and forth from the call menu to the home screen.

I had the issue on the official rom and also on a custom rom.
Does anyone know what is causing this?

Thank You

so how do you deal with it?

I had another Touch and that one worked fine...so it must be hardware related, but then as I said earlier, the button works when I'm in a call for a couple of seconds...

Any fixes?

I have this problem and my solution is what you said: repeatedly press it untill it responds.

well, I guess I have to return it then once again.

My first touch didn't do that, but had a screen issue. Now this one I like a lot better because the screen is a lot brighter.

They give you a 30 day warranty each and every time you get a new device, right?

Thank You

I believe the warranty renews when you get a new phone.

Re: End call button not working while calling

Theres a reg key then ends the call quicker when you hit the button

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE\
PhoneExtendSetting <<-- YOU WILL HAVE TO ADD THIS KEY
ADD the dword EndCallTime and make the value 1000 (one second) or 0 (no delay)

As for the value...is this decimal or hexadecimal?
