How do you confirm Rev. A after upgrade?

I want to make sure my vogue is set to use Rev. A and not anything else. I read somewhere online to check you dial ##3836# (##EVDO#). I tried that but didn't work. What do you think?

Run a speed test at speedtest.net and post your results.

on DSLReports.com/mobile 1mb file 312kbit/sec is that REVA or not?

Re: How do you confirm Rev. A after upgrade?

ive always had issues with that site giving me accurate info. What i suggest and what most others do is to teather with your pc and go to speedtest.net

Re: How do you confirm Rev. A after upgrade?

that gonna cost me a LOT of money to tether ...
I'm sure there's another way to test if it's rev a or not.

WOAH WOAH. THIS IS NOT TRUE!! Internet Sharing costs big money unless your registry is hacked to get free sharing. At least with Bell, I can't speak for other providers

Sprint Simply Everything plan:

"Phone as modem or tethering: not included."

Re: How do you confirm Rev. A after upgrade?

dial ##778#, click edit, enter ur msl, view info, data parameters, If U see a rev.a it says enable or disable.
Remember, You might have ur phone rev.a enebled but rev.a depends on coverage area.
Go to post #21 for instructions on how to get unlock code/MSL

I did ##778# (PST) and it opend EPST, then I clicked "View" instead of "Edit", view info, data parameters, Rev. A = Enable.

Didn't need my MSL.

Just tried this and didn't see the parameter. Here in Calgary Canada with Bell Touch mobile with latest upgrade. Guess Rev. A isn't here yet.

It's here in Edmonton, so I doubt it isn't in Calgary yet. Mines says RevA=Enable.

Yes, phone was upgraded yesterday and I'm enjoying the GPS and WM6.1! But when I dial the ##778# and check the data parameter section, there's only one parameter listed called Packet Data String. Nothing else in this section. Wonder what would happen if I added that parameter...

Here is how to get unlock code/MSL
Download the file that I've attached. Extract the files in 1 folder and copy to ur phone. write down ur hex ESN. open getspc app and enter hex esn in the input field. click go got ur unlock code. that's it.

If U cannot get it, PM me ur esn and I'll get it for u.
Do not put dec ESN, it will not work.
Here's how to get ESN without opening the phone:
Dial ##778#, click view, Youu will see hex ESN in the third line.

Well, that worked at getting me into the Edit mode. Though I'm stumped on how to add the RevA parameter to the Data Parameters section. Can edit existing parameters, but I can not find a way to add new parameters. Any help would be appreciated.

U cannot add anything on the epst. If U want to add rev.a, U have to flash ur device with a rom that enables rev.a. If U can just add anything on the epst, We don't need to flash the rom anymore.

That is a myth. I've been tethering for a long time with no pdanet and never been charge a single cent for tethering. Nobody claims that they were charge for tethering.

Well, I guess this is something for those that are cooking in the kitchen to be aware of. It appears that Bell may be posting changes during the upgrade process. For a person that posted earlier inidciated the RevA setting was present (in Edmonton) and while mine doesn't have this setting (Calgary). So best to create any future cooking with a Edmonton version of this rom. At least then you could select "disable" during the initial install and have the user change that to "enabled" if they want.

Do u have the same rom with the other dude? if U restore the settings from the rom U have before to the new rom, It will not show.

Re: How do you confirm Rev. A after upgrade?

It should be noted, and I'm sure somebody already did, even if you have rev A on your phone, it's useless unless you live in an area that either has week reception or hasn't rolled out rev A yet.

Well, I'm the 'other dude' and I've got NFSFAN's 1.13 BELL loaded. I never loaded the official Bell ROM because I really don't care that much about GPS.

You should talk to the other dude coz obviously U don't have the same rom or setup. He does not have rev.a and U have.

Well, I'm not sure what I can say. I loaded NSFFAN's ROM from this thread. That's it. I didn't do anything other than that. I loaded 1.13.

I couldn't find any confirmation if Bell has or has not setup RevA for any cities yet (llike ours: Calgary / Edmonton) so I went to the Telus site and reviewed their coverage mappings (about a year old now). They usually compete side by side. They don't indicate any RevA in Alberta yet but the provinces way out east (Ontario / Quebec) appear to be setup with RevA in a few cities.

Maybe seeing that you have the parameter indicates they're setting up Edmonton for RevA and just haven't flicked the switch yet. If you go to the HTC download site, you do read for Bell "* EV-DO Rev. A is network dependent and may not be available in all areas." Guess we oil provinces aren't rich enough for it yet.

Re: How do you confirm Rev. A after upgrade?

I dialed ##778#, entered my code and checked data parameters.
I've flashed Bell's latest rom but it shows #777 only? Should it not say something about Rev A at this string?
