old ESN restored after unlock, where is it stored?

Hey guys i just followed some directions to get my text and internet working on my Sprint 6900 that i have working on the Verizon network. I can make and recieve calls and text messages but no internet and i roam. So these steps involved reflashing my phone with imcokeman's unlocker (.40) and installing old roms. And not letting Sprint customizations run. Well after doing it i realized my ESN and SOME of my settings were reset back to the way the original settings were set for the Sprint network.

How is this possible? where would this info be stored?
