I can definitely recommend the 1500 mah battery from Seidio. Not cheap, but well worth it in my opinion. The 1100 mah battery just did not last long with the stock ROM, for me. I had trouble getting through a whole day. I can easily get through two days, now, with the 1500 one, as long as I don't talk for hours on end, that is!

Here's the cab. Install, let the phone sit for about 2 mins, then soft reset.

I am in the same boat. I feel this is the best of the roms out as far as battery life. OMJ's 3.03 KILLED my battery. Not even a full day. WMD's was slow slow slow.

This rom is blazin quick and great on battery. I use bluetooth all day, average probably a 1/2 hour of actual calls throughout the day. Email checks every 10 mins, with a total of around 40 every day. Took my phone off the charger this morning @ 7:30. Almost 8 hours later im still showing 90%.

I dont run SPB or any other resource hogign home apps either.

Re: Battery Life Management (Vogue, dHarvey)

At the lowest drain level, DH's "Almost 6.1.." ROM was 54 mAh from my observation. When I updated to 2.7x, the lowest drain level was ~80 mAh. When I upgraded to 2.9, I saw sub-60 mAh again (hovering around 200-300 mAh when operating).

Then I installed Yahoo's beta mobile client and my device went crazy. It would not ever drop below 300 mAh (hovering around 500-600 mAh when operating). I uninstalled the client, and the device was still burning at 300 mAh or more. I did a hard reset, and it's back at ~60 mAh at idle.

The point is that I think v2.9 is stable, and has good drain characteristics. Look out for the apps you install and the amount of CPU it's chewing up. Keep in mind that the cellular service quality (signal strength) has A LOT to do with battery life as well.

In the end, it may not be the ROM, but rather the additional apps you've installed. Sometimes they seem to affect the device even when they are not running or have been uninstalled.

Re: Battery Life Management (Vogue, dHarvey)

Quick update to my previous post. Took the phone off the charger almost 17 hours ago. I had some minor GPS usage, about an hour of talk time through BT which was on the whole time. Emails and light web browsing. Battery at 50% right now. I'd say thats pretty good.....
