Re: Best Headset for Wind?? Only Wind concerns

I've been trying the Plantronics 925 for a few days and so far the only negative is the wind. And it doesn't have to be very much wind. Even walking in a breeze can be heard by listeners on the other end.

Re: Best Headset for Wind?? Only Wind concerns

I have tried serveral headsets. I was very immpressed w/ the video on jawbones website....I decided to give it a try, and sure enough it blocks out all background noise. I did a test w/ a co-worker, driving into work....w/o the noise shield turned on, he could hear the radio in the background, but when I turned on the noise shield, he only heard my voice...I even cranked up the radio & he could not hear....the problem I had was it didn't fit my ear well & I had a hard time hearing.....I sold it to my co-worker. Then I bought BlueAnt Z9, I liked the features & capability of firmware upgrading. It fit so much better, and I can hear alot better too. When I repeated the test w/ my co-worker, he said it did not block the background noise as well. Also, I have had specific complaints while driving w/ the window down about the wind noise.

Both are really good headsets, but I'd say Jawbone has better noise reduction technology......and this was using their v1, I think they have a newer version. Still have my Z9 & use it everyday.

BlueAnt also just released the Z9i, but I haven't checked into it much, so the website would be your best bet for info there. Cnet gave the Z9 an 8.3 overall.
EDIT: BlueAnt just released the 4.0 firmware upgrade, which addresses perfomance in windy conditions. Sounds like this could be what you're looking for
just got my z9i today and so far its working wonderfully. I have it paired to both of my cell phones and it answers either phone when they ring. From what I understand the noise reduction might not be as good as the jawbone, but it's damn sure good enough for me. The fit is awesome and its VERY light. Right now I am wearing it without the ear loop and it's staying in very well.
