ROM question

If I was to make my own ROM and cook several programs into it, can those programs be updated. For example, if I added sMMS, could I install an update when one is released? Or would I be stuck with the version written in ROM? I hope I am making sense...

Depends on the programs or OEMS. My oem's I always try to make them so they mimic a cab install. That way you can update the program by installing a newer cab over it. The one downfall is, when you uninstall that new cab, the original program is gone too since it had no original install info.

Some OEM's dump the program into windows and leave it there.

So you can direct OEMs to install in specific locations, such as the program files directory?
