Help saving my perfection

Finaly, got the newest Sprint rom, all my apps & settings, everything is exactly as I want it. How do I do a ROM dump of everything so I can reload in case I lose my phone or something?

Re: Help saving my perfection

You will see many different choices for this, I have tried SPB and Sprite and I like Sprite Backup the best, their url is http://www.spritesoftware.com/ and the url for SPB Backup is http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/backup/?en so you can take your pick between them.

There are others, I just never tried them.

I use Sprite every time I change my ROM and it saves my butt many times.

Re: Help saving my perfection

I havent tried the SPB backup, but I have used Sprite backup and I always have problems. Mainly with programs that are restored I get certificate errors. I'm more looking to dump the whole rom/file system. Not use a 3rd party backup. Is this something that can be done thru the kitchen app?

Re: Help saving my perfection

Well this is speaking from someone who does not build kitchens but those pretty much (as far as I know) just install apps like cab files during the "customize" part of the install, like all the carriers phones do after a hard reset. The rom itself can include of course a different radio version or core rom but unless you know how to actually package the app so it installs off the cab how you want it, I do not see this working.

I do admit, sprite doesnt do like say, acronis true image does for your computer, which is make a byte for byte including partitions image. It sort of just copies the files how they are and replaces them over existing ones.

I never get errors with Sprite and I use it a lot, but I must admit, I do it in these steps which I suggest.

Hard reset, let it customize, THEN run the restore. Never run a restore over a broken setup.
