Re: Done with the Touch!!!
Opera mini doesn't get along with the JBED from the official rom (maybe because it doesn't go full screen?) anyway, I installed this one and it has never frozen afterwards. This should at least fix one of your problems

Re: Done with the Touch!!!
I can't believe it but my phone is doing the same thing....It started just like that freezing now and then, then soft resetting by itself in a middle of a call, Now it wont come out of stand by. I need to do a soft reset for it to power back on. I have the "official rom" on it.

Re: Done with the Touch!!!
Don't listen to them! You are RIGHT! The Touch is junk from day 1!
How much do you want for it? ![]()

Re: Done with the Touch!!!
karong,
I was just reading your original message again and I noticed that your problem started with Opera mini, and then you mention Opera mini again as one of the programs you always use. Just a suggestion here because I've only had my Touch for about a week, but if I were you I would start over and give it another chance. Reflash with the newest rom (I'm using this version 2.8 http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=31081) and this time don't use Opera mini, or any Opera for that matter. The first couple of days I had my Touch I was trying lots of different things and I got the impression that Opera was causing problems. It could be totally unrelated but after reflashing to clean up any junk, and only using IE, my experience has been 100% positive. |

Re: Done with the Touch!!!
touch is more flimsy than the 6700 or 6800? do you mean smaller and more compact? one thing the 6900 has over the iphone is its size. the compact little bastard is still the most powerful little guy on the market for verizon customers. the 6700 and 6800 are bulking masses. bulk does not mean it is more sturdy, unless of course you brick it and want to throw it at someone.

Re: Done with the Touch!!!
The touch ahs been ne of my faviorte phones. I had the Sprint centro for about 6 months but then our company moved to an exchange server and I lost my email, so I picked up a used touch for $150 with a Seido extended battery and haven't looked back. Even with the Seido battery it's smaller thant the Centro with a bigger screen. Google maps just looks so much better than the centros smaller screen. Unlocked and using Dharvey's v2.9 rom with GPS gives the iphone a run for it's money.
Don't give up, it's a great little phone. |
