There is a tool called advanced config and if you search ad on the otainstaller site it should be on the first page

My data stays connected with white arrows almost all day and it kills my battery but I do need data for my push email so i just dont want it to run all day...does anyone have any suggestions?

go into active sync and set the push syncs to 5-15 mins and not as items arrive, i figure if you send me an email ill get it within 1-5 min of you sending it...
gmail->mail2web->phone
->outlook

i get through about 3/4 day to a full day for moderate use, 5 hr listening to xm :(
