Re: NexVision's Throttle Manila

Is there a way to use GPS on this ROM without having to first go to Start/Settings/Connections/HTC GPS Router to Enable the COM Port then to HTC GPS Tools to Open and Test the port?
Everytime I want to use Google Maps I have to do this if I have rebooted since the last time I used GPS and I can't use Garmin XT without first pulling up Google Maps.
I though I really liked this ROM but if I can't easily use GPS I don't think it'll be very useful to me since the main reason I flashed the phone is to use the navigation feature.

Thanks

Re: NexVision's Throttle Manila

I don't know what the hell goes on, but every day at least once I need to align the screen because all the taps i do open the wrong, hit the wrong letter.. who else has this issue? its like the device goes crazy ..

it all works fine at first, all of a sudden when it wants to act stupid. i press the corner X .. instead volume pops up, or appointments, or whatever it wants..

Re: NexVision's Throttle Manila

I gave up on this ROM. Its the nicest looking ROM but nothing just works. Throttle crashes, phone freezes, settings aren't saved, alignment goes off, GPS works when it wants to, and all of these things happen daily. I was really happy when I got everything to work and posted my results but that lasted less than a day before everything had to be done all over again.
Nex, thanks for all of your hard work but I don't think this ROM is ready for daily use just yet. I'm more than happy to test ROMs and report back but I don't think this version has anything else to offer me. Like I said before, aesthetically nothing comes clsoe but it just isn't stable enough for daily use.

Re: NexVision's Throttle Manila

Not sure. I really wish I didn't have the issues. This ROM offered everything I wanted and it worked but not consistently enough for me. Maybe its the Verizon version. Is anyone using Verizon having good luck with this ROM? If another update comes out I'll come right back and try it but I just had to make the switch.
I switched to Negamann's Verizon ROM and it works lovely. Autorun picked up my Garmin XT right at startup and installed it for me and it worked right away. No settings had to be changed, no rebooting, and no freeze ups. Not having to prime Garmin alone is a big deal to me. I'm also on the phone all day for work and my battery life is much better now.
I will miss Throttle. I don't really care for the cube and this ROM gave me everything right at the botttom easily accessible.

Re: NexVision's Throttle Manila

I've been using it for a week now and while I've had some issues (not nearly the amount as some people) I really like this ROM. Most of things I see are slow down at times and once in while it locks up if I have too many apps running. I have no issues with screen alignment or settings being saved. That being I think most of the issues I do have are related to Throttle. I think it's just the nature of having another UI running on top of everything. Wisbar has similar issues. Overall it's been nothing serious or that a soft reset hasn't fixed.

BTW- I do have some issues with GPS. Again, I don't think it's the ROM, b/c it's no different than some other ROMs I've tried. Most people with Verizon seem to have the same issues getting a lock regardless of ROM. Try GPS viewer, for me it works way better and faster than the HTC app or Visual GPS.

Re: NexVision's Throttle Manila

I never had GPS issues with other ROMs like OMJ's which is what I switched from to this one. Now I'm on Negamann's and everything works great again. The slow downs, crashes, and GPS issues all together are too much for me. I expect some issues being that we're messing with our hardware and software so much but when I can't make a call cause my phone is frozen I have to switch.

Re: NexVision's Throttle Manila

This is by far the best Diamond emulation I've seen right now (and I've tried most of what's out there), so since I'm going through a Diamond fetish right now I'm going to stick it out with this ROM. I agree OMJ's was more stable, but again I think Throttle is the root of most of the issues.
