right, its write protected..
that`s why we have to do on the computer otherwise is not going to be possible,
and for the windows mobile splash screen.it`s called welcomehead.96

Re: new sprint startup animation

Looks like the registry entry for the startup animation is located at HKML\Software\HTC\StartupAnimation. The entrys should be as follows,

Enabled = Dword 1
GIFFile = (whatever gif files you wanna use)
UseStandardAudioAPI = Dword 1
Volumn = Dword 0
WAVFile = \Windows\Startup_sounds.wav
DelayPerFrame = Dword 10 for new 3.03 animation and 80 for older "sprint ahead" animation

Could someone please post the new file?

You can try to rename the file in your windows directory and then paste the new file into the directory. If that does not work and all else fails try downloading "total commander". Total commander is a file explorer software that gives you rights to those kind of files.

Let us know what worked.

Re: new sprint startup animation

For some reason I can't get this to work. It may be due to using No2Chem 2.2 Pre-5 ROM though. Maybe someone can confirm that.

Anyways, I've input all of the registry entries listed here:

Question is that supposed to be Volumn? Or Volume? I've also placed the new animation from above in the Windows directory named SPCS_Startup.gif. Nothing happens same old boot sequence. Am I missing something perhaps? Or is this a No2Chem ROM related thing? It's really no big deal if I can't get this to work, but it seems it should.

My registry entries:

HKLM\Software\HTC\StartupAnimation:

DelayPerFrame (DWORD): 10 DEC
Enabled (DWORD): 1 DEC
GIFFile (String): \Windows\SPCS_Startup.gif (I've also tried just SPCS_Startup.gif)
UseStandardAudioAPI (DWORD): 1 DEC
Volume (DWORD): 0 DEC
WAVFile (String):
