after backup no gps

I have the "official rom" and after restoring a spb backup v2.0 in upgrade rom mode I am not able to use the gps(I am before I do the backup). I was wondering if there was anything I can do to fix the gps after restoring the backup.

Thanks,
oneeyedelf1

Expecting a restore to work onto a new ROM is a bit optimistic...

I don't think that expecting a restore to work with a new rom using UPGRADE ROM mode is "a bit optimistic". Unless spb backup v2.0 rom upgrade mode is a joke.

Re: after backup no gps

OneEyedElf1, you are assuming they checked every single registry key on a NEW rom release that's only been out for such a short time. They haven't tested every possibility on every device. All it takes is one "different" not thought of registry key the devs miss and you have issues. (as you've seen)

Do like the rest of us did that tried the restores and had issues.... Hard reset and install each app.

After soo many years using pocket pc's and the like, the only time I trust a backup is if it's from same rom to same rom.

Just for your future upgrades, copy all the .cab files and a .txt file of all your license keys and stuff, and keep it on your storage card and also on your PC somewhere. It surely makes reinstall go ALOT quicker. You can also make a CAB file of registry customizations to further speed up your "rebuild" process.

Just my $0.02. Take it or leave it.

Re: after backup no gps

Depends on what your trying to restore.... restoring programs and regedits will only cause issues plus creates a horrible lag when soft resetting... Used the same software but only to restore text and contacts... mostly wanted text seeing how outlook has contacts. Plus as mentioned above there are alot of apps that worked on the previous rom but cause allot of issues on boot wit the new.

Re: after backup no gps

When U tried to restore, It told U that U r restoring to a different device. It's because the ROM's are different and It detects it as a different device. U might have problems restoring it. Didn't it? That alone will tell U that it's not a good idea to restore if U upgrade ur ROM. Thanks
