leaked ROM GPS questions

i use MYmotion... and i have had success with it... in our town (that has spring service...) i spend my summers out in the country... where i do get service, just not sprint (i have unlimited roaming, so not a problem)
with when i try to use mymotion at my house (in the country) i cant get a fix, i see about 13 satellites.. but cant get a fix.. why is this?
when i start the program, it says 0, then, they start coming in... 18,19,37 etc.. but it wont lock down...
do i need to be in sprint service? i thought this was true GPS, not aGPS...

so, im seeing satellites, but cannot get a fix (can when im in sprint area)
