TomTom6 config?

Hello,

I just installed my old TomTom6 and am wondering what settings I need to configure it with in order to use the internal GPS.

Thanks,

Matt

I use port 4 and baud rate of 4800 I believe. Prime it with Live search or google maps or some sort of GPS launcher.

Mine works great.

Good luck

By prime you mean leave one of those two programs running while TomTom only when it's started or always when it's running.

There has to be a better solution. Like HTC's GPS Tool or something.

There is if you look around. You have several GPS launchers, etc. Whatever works for you and what you want to put up with. Tom Tom is not design for internal GPS.

It works great for me

Re: TomTom6 config?

Can you look in the GPS setup in tomtom? Most of today's GPS apps first try for an internal chip then a BT reciever. There is also no need to prime anything. I use Garmin XT, ALK CoPilot, and MapQuest and they all behave that way.

On the Touch itself enable WM to configure ports and rate automatically!

AstroGPSLauncher. TomTom requires a primer because it cannot fnd the GPS on its own (unlike apps like Google Maps or Windows Live). AstroGPSLauncher includes a shortcut link that will make starting TomTom a one click operation.

If AstroGPSLauncher didn't exist I would tend to agree with you, but it really isn't an issue once you've got it. It works so well you might even forget you have it installed!
