exchange server dilema

I had my touch set up to access my corporate mail thru an exchange server. I no longer have to use an exchange server to get my mail and I deleted the account but when i reset the phone i still get the prompt for a password. any idea how to remove this?

I have this same problem and it's really annoying to still have any answers? The option to turn off the password is grayed out.

Did you delete the serve account in ActiveSync on the phone?
