Re: ppst.exe missing.....

I had this same problem. I looked and looked, but it turns out that someone else has posted it on here. search easy gps fix. It should be a zip file with a cab in it. install the cab, then look for ppst.exe in the windows file. run it and follow the directions, it makes a world of a difference for me now. good luck.

Re: ppst.exe missing.....

I never ran the PPST.exe since during the customization it ran itself. Or is this a different type?

Re: ppst.exe missing.....

From what I understand, you only have to run the PPST once. It will upgrade your PRI to 2.03_003. Supposedly the best way to do it is by using the leaked ROM: install leaked ROM -> let customizations run -> soft reset -> check PRI -> re-run ppst.exe if not updated -> then flash whatever other ROM you want. The ppst.exe mainly updates your PRI, not sure if it does anything else.

Re: ppst.exe missing.....

i ran the exe and it did the soft reset but im going on like almost 10 minutes now and still no lock.....im in az btw so you have a clear veiw of the sky almost everywere as long as you can stand the heat....i have it set to com4 and the baud rate at 4800....is there any reason to change the baud rate?

it looks like it finds like 5 or 6 satelites but doesnt lock on them...they pop up for a second or two and then it resets all the other ones it found

but then again my satelite tv is freaking out right now pretty bad so ill try again later and hopefully its just something weird going on out here right now

Re: ppst.exe missing.....

i think what you are supposed to do is install the cab, then go to the windows directory on your phone and run ppst.exe. then that'll reset your phone for you and then it'll work, supposedly. I'm doing the same thing right now actually so I'll report to see if it helps.

edit: wow, it actually helped ALOT. I've never been connected to more than 4-5 satelittes. right now it's jumping from 7-10 connected. SWEET! Hopefully this'll get rid of the GPS dying and me having to reset as well.
